A YEAR IN REVIEW

IN 2022 WE RAISED MORE THAN $750,000!

This year marked the beginning of Family Fun Events at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Each month we proudly host fun activities, providing positivity and joy to patients on the Hematology and Oncology floors.

For Mother’s Day, Mia’s Miracles provided support totes filled with feel-good items to the loving mothers of patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. We are happy to announce this will be an ongoing initiave, bringing joy to families facing challenging circumstances.

In December, we donated eight NICU incubators to San Vicente Fundacion Hospital in Medellin, Colombia. These incubators will provide a fighting chance to more than 600 premature babies each year who would otherwise have no alternative.

Mia’s Serenity Space for Staff now has three locations throughout Niclaus Children’s Hospital. The frontline workers on the NICU floor at NCH now have a space to take a moment of reprieve while facing difficult moments.

We hosted our very first ProAm Golf Tournament, raising more than $400,000 in support, which will allow us to expand our miracles for the upcoming year.

OUR IMPACT THROUGH THE EYES OF TIFFANY GALLART OF NICKLAUS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

“I see family’s lives change in a heartbeat when they receive a cancer or blood disorder diagnosis. Families often times have to make the hard decision to live off of one income in order for the other parent to become the full-time caretaker of the child. This causes a great amount of financial distress and they have a difficult time coping with the weight of it all. We see families struggle to pay for their basic needs such as rent/mortgage, energy bills, gas to come to appointments, medications, and even food. Their lives are flipped upside down — the demands don’t stop but our families keep moving forward.

What I so appreciate about Mia’s Miracles is their drive to make an impact on our families. They provide us with the resources to help keep our families focused on what matters most — their child. It has been countless times that I have been able to rely on Mia’s Miracles to help pay for a costly medication, or gift cards so a family has food on the table, gas in their tank to come to the hospital, or even purchased a car seat so a patient can go home safely.

They also go above and beyond with their adopt-a-family grants. I remember them sharing these grants just before Christmas and a mom cried to me over the phone when I shared the news that their mortgage and car would be paid for the month. The family was behind on all their bills and even worried where they would get the money to do groceries, let alone pay these bills. It was a beautiful moment that made me so grateful to have Mia’s Miracles as part of our family here at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

What makes Mia’s Miracles different is that they work with me and our team, the ones on the frontlines, to provide help to our families in the way they need it most. I know when I advocate for a family, the team at Mia’s Miracles is listening and does not hesitate at the opportunity to change a family’s life and gives them that chance to breathe again. We are most grateful for their support and overall love for their cause. Mia lives on in the most beautiful way through this foundation.”
