Shawn-Lee was admitted to Nicklaus Children’s for a transplant and lives in a single-parent household. Shawn-Lee’s mother has not been working and is on an unpaid medical leave from her employer. She has been maxing out her credit cards and was only making $980\/biweekly when she was working. She currently receives $335 monthly in food stamps. Paying rent was very hard for the family especially because Shawn-Lee’s 5 year old brother was the donor.
